Portuguese metallurgy and metalwork exports grew 13.3% Lusa

Portuguese metallurgy and metalwork exports grew 13.3% during the first four months in comparison to the same period last year, while imports shrank 19.8%, sector association AIMMAP reported Wednesday.
Exports represented 45% of the sector’s business in the January-April period, it said in a press release, adding that the sector counted for 18% of gross domestic product.
In 2011, the metallurgy and metalwork industry did €26 billion worth of business, according to AIMMAP.
