It's been several decades and Branda da Aveleira is still more and more beautiful. Man before Brandeiro had to conquer the wilderness , going to great achievement in the beginning of the last century .
The Branda was built on the most fertile sites where abundant large springs , that Nature as amicably left us.
Our family , Men work and vision, built small cardenhas , which passed from generation to generation , until the Branda , in the late twentieth century, gave the revolution of this site for turism.
The Casa da Fonte integrates the pioneer batch of this new look at the potential of Branda . Your name is associated with the existence of a source next to the enterprise. The source , in the late nineteenth century was just a simple mountain spring, but when the first Brandeiros are fixed during the summer in the Branda Fonte , explored in his favor, later building a fountain in shale. In this new source filled the gourds that stop as well as serving to transport the milk of their animals (for the other family members who lived in the parish of Gave ) , also gave to go to the source , giving them a more comfortable life within their cardenhas. As the source is located in a ' poulo ' ( flat land with grass) , today is known as the 'Fonte do Poulo ' .
The Brandeiro always built their houses ( cardenhas ) very close to these locations, and how this house is the one that is closest to the public source , came to be called 'Casa da Fonte´ .
