Casa de Canedo - Tourism Housing

Celorico de Basto
Description / Facilities

Casa de Canedo is a 17th century manor-house, hub of a 50 hectare (124 acres) agricultural and forestry estate. In its present form the house comprises the original 17th-century  square-built building with an interior yard - where the residential area and services are located - and an adjoining chapel to which was added an 18th-century building - the so-called "Casas Novas" (New Houses) - thus extending the main building and circumscribing the front yard.

The house is surrounded by pleasant gardens and green fields inviting you to walk, relax and even, weather permitting, to enjoy an outdoor meal. One can use the swimming pool, play badminton and croquet, or follow the farming activities Canedo is right in the middle of the demarcated area of "vinho verde" and here the many tasks involved in grape growing and"vinho verde" production reach their peak late September early October, during the "vindima" (grape gathering) season.
