The Valongo Station is part of the Douro line that was inaugurated on July 28, 1875. The main and oldest building dates back to that time. Valongo had two platform ferry pier, from which their products were transported by train. This was one of the busyiest lines of the Douro. The “valonguenses” bakers used to sell to the passengers who drew near the windows of the carriage the renowned bread and the delicious cookies. You should accept the challenge.
