“There’s Feast in the Village” is a pioneer project of territorial development, creating a new focus of attractiveness in rural spaces with their own characteristics (villages of Areja, Couce, Porto Carvoaeiro, Ul and Vilarinho de S. Roque). Promoted by the “Associação de Desenvolvimento Integrado das Terras de Santa Maria (ADRITEM)” – in paternship with the municipalities Albergaria-a-Velha, Gondomar, Oliveira de Azeméis, Santa Maria da Feira and Valongo – the procject funded by the “Programa de Desenvolvimento Rural (PRODER)” proposes the active involvement of the  population stimulating uses and customs, cultural traditions and the food.

The origins of Ul (Oliveira de Azeméis) are ancient, the etymon "uria", that is stream the Celtic toponym  designating the parish and the river that flows  The village covers  Avelão, Crasto and Salgueirinha, where is inserted the “Parque Temático  Molinológico”  of UI, an authentic "living museum"  of the bread making  structures and the grain milling with more than 200 years of existence.  The water mills, are a local reference and were mentioned  in detail in the XVIII century. In the beginning, there is grinded the corn, after the wheat, and later started  to peel rice.
