Description
By Royal Charter, dated 15 th July 1579, it is known that authorisation was given for the  construction of a building to house a Carity called "Santa Casa da Misericórdia.
According to an inscription on the interior walls, it is known that this church underwent extensive  building works between 1892 and 1893. The interior is decorated with carved and engraved woodwork in the Baroque style. The Mariners' Chapel its located in the interior of Church Mercy, and it can be said that this Chapel is a jewel in the architecture of the Town of Esposende. Classified as a National Monument
