Cabroelo Village

Penafiel
Description
The Village of Cabroelo is located in the parish of Capela, between the Serra da Boneca landscape and river Mau valley. Having a good location, it is next to Porto driving by the Douro frontriver road. In the village the buildings are built in granite, the threshing-floors are built in graywacke and the silos are built in wood. The Capela de S. Mateus, rebuilt in 1872, with a curious baroque altarpiece, stands at the top of the village. Just below, several paths take the visitors to the center of the village. The inhabitants of Cabroelo live from the agriculture and all the landscape around can be enjoyed along the footpath that gathers the Museu da Broa (Corn Bread Museum) with the Capela Leisure Park.
